to Church of the Ascension, a growing church serving Jesus in downtown Clearwater! We're just a block from the water and the most beautiful Florida sunsets God ever made!

We believe our relationship with Jesus Christ can empower our lives and change our world! We believe we are called to walk together on our spiritual journey as a community of faith.

WHO WE ARE
The church's first congregation met above the Munnerlyn's General Store, on the waterfront at the foot of a sandy road called Cleveland Street. The Sunday nearest All Saints Day of 1885 was the day on which they decided to found a mission church, and it was named "Ascension," because said Mrs. Munnerlyn, "it was a miracle the way our church did ascend from our prayers!" 

We still gather on Sundays and during the week to encourage each other on our faith journeys! Using the gifts of the Holy Spirit, we seek God's grace and then endeavor to show the face of Jesus to our parish family and community.
